Everyone has a different vision for their wedding and exactly what they want it to be like. We offer many different services to our future couples and have seen an increase in “First Looks” throughout the past couple of years. A First Look is when a bride and groom see each other for the first time, before their ceremony. First Looks capture the tender and raw emotions of the exact instant when couples see each other for their first time on their special day.

Couples question what is so special about First Looks or why they would want to see one another before the ceremony. If you are set on seeing your significant other for the first time at the altar, then obviously a first look isn’t for you. However, if you are interested in seeing your fiancé in a setting that is more personal and intimate, then maybe a First Look is something you would be interested in. Here are some benefits of the First Look:

Stress Reliever

First Looks will relieve the stress of walking down the aisle without seeing your significant other first. Couples who have first looks are generally less nervous for the ceremony since they already had time with each other before. First Looks give couples the chance to express their love and tell one another how amazing they look. This can also help eliminate any anxiety that the bride may have about what her groom will think of her as she walks down the aisle.

Photo-Ready

You will be fresh out of the hair and makeup hair, and will look your absolute best for your photo-op. You won’t have to worry about trying to rush and getting in quick hair/makeup touch ups after your ceremony. This can also help eliminate additional costs by not having to pay for your hair/makeup artists to stay longer to fix you up before pictures.

Lighting

Since First Looks are generally done in the daytime, it will give you the perfect lighting for your pictures, especially in those fall and winter months when the evenings get dark earlier. Often times, couples have a 3pm ceremony and it could be an hour long, leaving no time before darkness sets in during months later in the year.

Creativity

Get creative and have fun with this…you only have one chance at it, so you might as well enjoy it!  We have seen couples use blind folds, special entrances, standing back to back, shoulder taps, turning knobs to entrance ways, long walks to your love, etc. This is a good way to get creative, show your personalities and surprise your love with how great you look.

Ceremony At The Same Location As The Reception?

For couples having their ceremony at the same location as their reception, the ceremony will go straight into the reception without having to put the party to a halt. You won’t have to try and quickly gather everyone needed for pictures and your guests won’t have to wait around for you to be done with your photo shoot to begin enjoying themselves and celebrate your marriage. Some couples even have to skip their cocktail hours in order to get their photo shoot in…you paid a lot of money for those hors d’oeuvres, you don’t want to miss out! Get your First Look done and then go grab one of those fancy signature cocktails that are waiting for you.

Your cinematographer and photographer can capture the truest footage of the love you share and the happiness of seeing each other for the first time on your special day. First Looks are highly recommended for easy fluidity of your day, capturing that special “look” and being able to provide you that moment to look back on forever.
